Membership Terms and Conditions

Before you dive into all the juicy goodness of soap making, business strategy, and building the brand of your dreams, there’s just one thing we need to do, a quick read-through of the terms & conditions.

Don’t worry, it’s not stiff or scary. Just a gentle, practical guide to how everything works inside the membership so you always know what to expect and where to turn for support.

 

What your membership includes

Your membership gives you access to exclusive digital content including:

  • Soap-making and business lessons combined with cosmetic recipes, quiz and mindset boosts 
  • Our private community space
  • Downloadable PDFs, worksheets, or bonus tools
  • Discounts and early-bird perks on selected products and courses 
  • Direct support from Helga, the creator of Chalke Valley Soaps

 Access and billing

Memberships are sold as digital subscriptions and can be purchased on either a monthly or annual basis (depending on the option you choose during checkout).

  • Monthly membership renews every month on the date of your original sign-up.
  • Annual membership renews every 12 months.

Your access continues as long as your payments are up to date.

 Cancelling your membership

We know life changes, and you can cancel your membership anytime via your account settings.

  • When you cancel, you’ll still have full access until your current billing period ends.
  • We do not offer refunds for any remaining time once a subscription payment has been made.
  • Once your billing period ends, access to all membership content will be paused.

Don’t worry, you can rejoin anytime and continue from where you've left off. Your soap journey is always welcome here! 

Re-activating your account

If you cancel your membership, you’re always welcome to come back! You’ll be able to pick up right where you left off, as long as you sign in with the same email address linked to your original account.

Please note, we’re unable to merge multiple accounts. To keep all your progress and content access, make sure to log in using your original email.

Refunds

Due to the digital nature of the membership and instant access to content, all payments are final and non-refundable.

If you’re unsure whether this membership is the right fit for you, feel free to reach out before joining – we’re happy to provide you advice.

Free trial and promotional access

From time to time, we may offer a free trial to new members, giving you full access to the membership for the first month at no charge.

By signing up for a free trial, you agree that unless cancelled before the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically continue and the full membership fee will be charged on the first billing date after the trial ends.

Only one free trial is permitted per person. If we detect multiple sign-ups or misuse of the offer, access may be revoked.

You can cancel anytime during the trial to avoid being charged. After cancellation, your access will remain active until the end of the trial period.

Content delivery

New content is added on a rolling basis. Depending on your plan, you’ll receive:

  • One new lesson every week (e.g. soap-making and business lessons alternate)
  • Bonus content released occasionally or during seasonal promotions or special events
  • Challenges will be provided after each focus/module to test your knowledge. These are very useful, but entirely optional.
  • Access to a growing library of past lessons and resources (while your membership is active)

All content is hosted on our secure learning platform, and no downloads are required to participate. 

Community access

Your membership includes access to our private student or member group, where you can:

  • Ask questions and get support
  • Connect with other soap lovers and small business owners
  • Share your progress, wins, or soap disasters (we love them all!)

This space is moderated by Helga and/or her team, and is a respectful, encouraging, and no-drama zone. Be kind, be curious, and be yourself.

We reserve the right to remove access to the group if any behaviour is deemed disrespectful or inappropriate.

Use of content

Everything you see inside the membership – videos, lessons, formulas, downloads, recipes, photos, and even our quirky handouts – is the intellectual property of Chalke Valley Soaps.

What you’re allowed to do

We love seeing our members put their knowledge into action! As part of your membership, you’re welcome to:

  • Use the recipes you learn here to create and sell your own products
  • Apply the skills and techniques in your own soap business or hobby
  • Adapt our formulations for your own product range

As long as you’re not copying or distributing the course materials themselves (lessons, videos, handouts, or exact recipes in teaching content), you’re free to build and grow with what you’ve learned.

You may not:

  • Share our resources or lessons with others outside the membership
  • Resell, teach, or publish our learning materials
  • Use our exact recipes in your own courses or educational materials

 All content is copyrighted. Let’s keep it fair and lovely for everyone.

What happens if we change the membership?

We may tweak, improve, or restructure parts of the membership from time to time – for example:

  • Adding new types of content
  • Updating pricing
  • Retiring older lessons
  • Launching new formats or platforms

If this happens, we’ll do our best to give you plenty of notice and keep any changes beneficial to our members.

Tech requirements

To access the membership, you’ll need:

  • A stable internet connection
  • A device that can stream video and open PDFs
  • A mobile browser or desktop browser (our platform is mobile-friendly!)

There’s no need to install any app – just log in via your internet browser and dive into your content.

Privacy and data

We respect your privacy. Your personal data is stored securely and never sold or shared with third parties.

We may use your information to send important membership updates, news, or personalised content related to your learning journey. You can update your preferences or opt out of marketing emails at any time. 

Limitation of liability

We hope your experience inside our membership is full of lather, laughter, and learning – but please note that:

  • Chalke Valley Soaps cannot be held liable for any results or outcomes related to implementing the materials, advice, or suggestions shared within the membership.
  • Our liability is limited to the purchase price of your current membership period.

As always, we recommend patch testing, safe handling, and common sense when making or using cosmetic products.

Final note (and a friendly wink)

These terms exist not to overwhelm, but to protect both sides. We’re a small business that puts heart and soul into our content, and we ask for the same respect in return.

By joining the membership, you agree to these terms and acknowledge that they may be updated periodically. We’ll always aim to notify you if any major changes occur.

And just so you know, you’re never doing this alone!
