Our terms and conditions are the magic glue that binds all bookings together. By making a booking, you're joining the CVS soap-making family and happily agreeing to abide by these terms and conditions. It's all part of the adventure!
Bookings
To reserve your spot for my day or online sessions, start by purchasing one of the courses on our website. It's your first step towards an unforgettable soap-making adventure!
Once you've made the full payment, you will receive our welcome pack with the Agreement and the essential Questionnaire.
Finding the perfect date for your workshop is important to us. As soon as we receive all the signed paperwork back from you, we'll swing into action and arrange a date that works perfectly for everyone involved.

Booking on behalf of someone else
If you're booking a workshop for someone else, please make sure to give us the name and email address of the attendee. That way, we can send all the important information and updates directly to them.
Please note that our workshops are designed for participants aged 16 and above. As much as we adore little ones, we kindly request that children under 16 not attend the workshop. Safety first!
Gift Vouchers
We offer digital and physical Private Course Gift Vouchers that can be redeemed for an in-person or online session.
Please note that the vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Our Gift Vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
We offer free delivery of plastic-free vouchers directly to the recipient or to you within the United Kingdom. Please provide the recipient's full name and address during purchase.
Please note, we can proceed digital vouchers only if the recipient is outside of the UK.
Recipients can conveniently arrange their day with us over the phone or via email.
Copying or reproducing our unique gift voucher designs and text without permission violates copyright.
Details of Participation
Upon completion of your workshop booking and payment, you will receive an email containing comprehensive information regarding the workshops, including the location and any other pertinent details.
Workshop Content
The workshop content may be subject to change at any time by Chalke Valley Soaps.
It is important to note that our opinion is not a substitute for professional guidance. All information shared during the workshops is our subjective opinion and should not be considered professional advice.
Techniques and Designs
During the Chalke Valley Soaps private workshop, the attendee will be taught a variety of designs and techniques. These creative approaches and methods, encompassing recipes, flavours, and concoctions, are the exclusive intellectual property of Chalke Valley Soaps. By reserving a spot in the workshop, you are authorised to reproduce these designs solely for your personal soap-making pursuits and apply them to your own business.
If you currently run or plan to run soap-making classes or workshops, it is prohibited to utilise the designs acquired from our workshops for advertising or conducting similar classes/workshops. Our aim is to impart fundamental skills to you. Should you choose to organise future classes/workshops, you are not permitted to use our course materials, recipes, workshop format, structures, photographs, teaching techniques, pre-workshop information, wording from Chalke Valley Soaps emails or website, or any other content for your own classes/workshops or their promotion.
Copying the Workshop Pack, either wholly or partially, for distribution in your own classes or workshops is strictly prohibited.
Additionally, it is reiterated that all content displayed on the Chalke Valley Soaps website, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest accounts is the intellectual property of Chalke Valley Soaps unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds
Once you have booked and paid for a workshop with Chalke Valley Soaps, please note that refunds cannot be provided if you are unable to attend. However, you have the option to find a replacement attendee; kindly provide us with the replacement attendee's full name and email address, and we will forward the workshop details to them.
Only ONE free rescheduling is allowed due to high demand. If you would like us to reschedule your workshop again, a £50 administrative fee will be charged.
If we have to cancel a workshop, alternative date(s) for rescheduling will be provided. If no alternatives are available, a full refund will be issued for the workshop cost. Please note that our liability is limited to the workshop place cost, and we cannot compensate for additional expenses such as transportation or accommodation.
In the event of an in-person workshop cancellation due to inclement weather conditions, we will make every effort to reschedule your workshop or provide a voucher for future booking.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive late for your workshop, please be aware that we will finish the workshop at the scheduled time. Unfortunately, we are unable to transfer your place to an alternative date. Therefore, it is important to allow ample time when planning your journey.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
All bookings are subject to the laws and jurisdiction of England and Wales, ensuring a fair and consistent framework for our services.
Force Majeure
At Chalke Valley Soaps, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can disrupt plans. We'd like to inform you about "Force Majeure Events," events beyond our control.
Force Majeure Events refer to situations outside our reasonable control that may prevent or delay fulfilling our obligations. This includes extreme weather, transportation difficulties, supplier failures, strikes, and more.
During such events, our obligations under these terms will be temporarily suspended, with an extension granted.
For workshops, we'll strive to resolve the event and find suitable solutions. This may involve rescheduling or offering a workshop voucher valid for six months. Refunds require a written agreement and are considered case-by-case. Rescheduling depends on availability.
Rest assured, each Force Majeure Event will be handled individually, seeking fair solutions to minimise inconvenience.
Liability
At Chalke Valley Soaps, we want to clarify our stance regarding liability to ensure transparency and understanding.
Once payment is received, the contract becomes non-cancellable for customers, except within the cooling-off period. Please note that mistakes in workshop date selection by customers will not be considered grounds for cancellation.
However, we understand that exceptional circumstances may arise, and we reserve the right to accept cancellations at our discretion. Any refunds or partial refunds will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we cannot be held liable for any loss or consequential loss incurred by the Student due to any omissions or failures on the part of Chalke Valley Soaps in relation to the contract.
In any situation, the maximum liability of Chalke Valley Soaps' proprietor will be limited to the purchase price of the products or services covered by the contract, in the event of cancellation.
Your Privacy
At Chalke Valley Soaps, we value your privacy and confidentiality. Rest assured that all personal details provided by you are treated with utmost care. We do not share personal addresses, phone numbers, or emails with any third parties, except within Chalke Valley Soaps Limited. We do not maintain the financial records of our customers.
To respect your privacy, we do not disclose the names of former students on our website, unless otherwise agreed. However, we reserve the right to mention the company names, trading names, or publicly accessible names of former students' businesses that are already in the public domain for marketing purposes or other valid reasons.
Certain information you provide may be used for our own marketing purposes, allowing us to keep you informed about our latest offerings and updates.
We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time, any changes will be communicated to the Students appropriately.
